A robber attacked an employee at Space Age Fuel on the corner of Northeast 162nd Avenue and Northeast Glisan Street at 8:17 p.m. Friday, July 23.
The suspect came in to the gas station with a handgun and demanded money from the attendant, according to Gresham Police.
The suspect then struck the employee in the head with a drinking glass and started beating the attendant repeatedly with the weapon.
The attendant was injured, but was not taken to the hospital, said Sgt. Rick Wilson, Gresham police spokesman.
The weapon was either an Airsoft or BB gun, according to officials.
Wilson said the gun was made of plastic and pieces of it were found at the scene.
The gas station was not damaged, but the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash, Wilson said.
The suspect is described as a black man, 35 years of ago, 5-feet-9-inches tall, 200 pounds with black hair and wearing a gray beanie, white T-shirt, black pants and white shoes. Anyone with information about the robbery should call the Gresham Police at 503-618-2719.
Re: East County gas station robbed at gunpoint
Another reason to NOT be afraid of guns, but instead, GET AN EDUCATION!
Anybody with average eyesight, 1/2 a brain & a little gun knowledge could easily see from the tiny diameter of the barrel bore that it was a toy.
First rule of a gun fight? Have a gun, not a toy.
"Jokes on you!"
